Hi there, I’m Kym
I am the sole creator & forager for all the pieces I make for ‘Coastal Clay Wall Art’ which grew from my love of nature and being creative with it.
After growing up in Sydney, finishing High School and then completing my Advanced Certificate in Office Administration, I decided I wanted to see the world. I moved abroad and lived there for 6 years, returning in 2007. Fast forward 3 years I met my husband, Mark. We lived in Sydney and spent a lot of time travelling to the South Coast and even got married at the Blue Pool in Bermagui. We had our son Ernest in 2016 and shortly after decided to move to Merimbula, a small seaside town on the sparkling Sapphire Coast of NSW where we lived till recently. We have now moved to the village of Pambula and are thoroughly enjoying the open spaces and wonderful views surrounding our home.
In 2020 ‘Coastal Clay Wall Art’ was born out of a love of nature. I wanted my pieces to tell a story or evoke an emotion not found in the everyday experience. Turning my passion into a business I began creating and handmaking bespoke wall art pieces from nature. I am continuously inspired by the rugged ocean beaches, tranquil coastal lakes, and stunning bushlands of this area I am lucky to call home.
Being creative and making wall art pieces for people is such a thrill. I can see the delight in their faces when they see a piece and they then can picture where it will hang in their home.
I’ve had such a positive response to all my pieces and along with the encouragement and support from my family and friends I know this is where I should be, doing something I love.
